The Bombay Sailing Association offers the following categories of membership:

The Association Is Accepting Members At The Moment.

Permanent members:

INR 10 Lakhs + GST

  • Under this category, you are a member of the Association with access to Sailing as well as the 'Accommodation' Facilities at Mandwa

  • Applicants Proposer / Seconder can apply for a Membership Form

  • Applicants Proposer & Seconder should be a Member of the Association for at least 05 years Good Standing.

  • Applicants form goes through a screening, interview & balloting process

Member Child:

INR 2 lakhs + GST

  • A member's Child whose Parent has completed Five Years as Member of the Association and is between the age of 16 years to 30 years is eligible to apply for Permanent Member under this category Applicants Proposer / Seconder can apply for a Membership Form

  • Applicants Proposer & Seconder should be a Member of the Association for at least 05 years Good Standing.

  • Applicants form goes through a screening, interview & balloting process

We also offer 8 private bungalows (Annexes).

 

These are exclusive cottages which are an ideal option for a full weekend for a family or a small group of friends. Each Annex also has its own fully equipped kitchen with staff.

The Club House & Annexes have a fairly larger “outside area” to recreate during the day. All dwellings have individual Caretakers to help you in the kitchen, make beds and keep the premises clean and tidy for a comfortable stay. Besides the Sail Boats, the Club has, in the recent past added 2 Hard Kayaks that can be used by members (In non-monsoon times and in line with rule and regulations and safety procedures).

The sailing activities of the Association are conducted jointly with The Royal Bombay Yacht Club (RBYC) and the Colaba Sailing Club (CSC) who are our sister clubs. We jointly offer a full season sailing program which comprises of various races, training programs, day and weekend cruises.

​

You can go sailing in any of the boats belonging to the 3 clubs, which are in a common pool, when a boat of your club is not available. Hence you are mostly assured of getting a boat when you want one.

​

The racing and cruising activities are mostly initiated at Mumbai from the RBYC premises to which the BSA members have access. There are some weekend races from Mumbai to Mandwa, which involves racing to Mandwa on Saturday afternoon, staying overnight at the BSA property and racing back Sunday afternoon.

​

In association with the RBYC (periodically & depending on schedule drawn up by them), for your children of 8 and above, there is a specially tailored sailing program. It is called the Youth Sailing Program which consists of Optimist and Laser Sailing. It is an annual coaching program which starts with an optimist, a boat especially designed for children between the ages of 8 to 15. This program will do wonders for your child and is highly recommended. You need to fulfil only one prerequisite. The child must know how to swim with relatively decent fitness.

 

The Committee is guided by The Rules and Byelaws of the Association drafted by our founding fathers.
